Our Story
Our story begins with Shai Kaplan’s journey with yoga. At the age of 14, Shai faced a life-threatening brain tumour that altered her life dramatically. Her survival was made possible by life-saving medical care and surgery, but her quality of life remained deeply affected. Determined to find additional paths to healing, she refused further invasive treatments at 17 and embarked on a transformative journey to India, where she met B.K.S. Iyengar, a world-renowned yoga master.

Under Iyengar’s guidance, Shai immersed herself in yoga for over a decade, experiencing profound healing and personal growth. Yoga enabled her to coexist with her condition, turning challenges into strengths.
Empowered by this transformative experience and supported by the Iyengar Family, Shai returned to Israel with a mission: to make the therapeutic benefits of yoga accessible to everyone.
She established Israel’s first rehabilitative yoga unit at Reuth Medical Center, integrating Iyengar Yoga into medical care, and later founded AnuYoga in 2021 to expand this vision.
Today, AnuYoga continues to bring healing and well-being to individuals and communities across Israel and beyond.
